Checkers is played on the same 8×8 grid as Chess, but only on dark squares, with uniform pieces. It is easy to learn and fast to play — great for a casual game night on GroupTube.
How to start playing
Two players join the game. Moves and captures are shared live, so everyone in the group sees the same board — ideal for coaching or a friendly audience.
Rules
The game rules on GroupTube match the common "American" style of the game.
1. Starting Position
Pieces start on dark squares in the first three rows on each side.
2. Movement
Normal pieces move diagonally forward one square to an empty square.
3. Capturing
Capturing is mandatory when possible: jump over an adjacent enemy piece into an empty square immediately behind it. Multiple jumps in one turn are allowed when chained.
4. Kings
Reaching the far rank crowns a piece; kings can move diagonally forward and backward.
5. Winning
You win by capturing all opponent pieces or by blocking them so they cannot move.
