GroupTube 1.5 – Improved Search & Queue Shuffle

Searching for YouTube videos to watch has been substantially improved. Now you can search and find channels and playlists and add their videos to the queue directly.

Welcome to GroupTube 1.5, in this update the process of searching for new YouTube videos to watch has been greatly improved. The YouTube search has not only become more functional, but also more reliable than before!

We also have great news, because YouTube has accepted GroupTube to access its data more often on the May 20th 2025. This allows our users to search for more videos, and allows us to query more data, improving the user experience substantially.

📺 New Recommendations

We now recommend a list of videos, playlists, and channels to watch, as a source of inspiration for our users. This makes use of our capability to access more data on YouTube.

In the future, we plan on making this list customizable by group members. You will be able to pin channels and playlists, or even create your own playlists together, right on GroupTube.

🔍 Search for Playlists and Channels

The search now supports playlist and channel results, so when they are part of your search, they will appear in the results.

You can also view the videos contained and start playing or add all videos to the queue by clicking on the plus button.

🔀 Queue Shuffle

Working great together with the possibility to add an entire music playlist, we added a new shuffle option to the queue.
