Format notes with the toolbar — titles, lists, bold, and everything you’d expect from a simple text document. When you take them out of GroupTube, exports use Markdown by default so they open nicely in other tools.

How to use

• Open Notes from the Apps tab in your group. Everyone in the session shares the same document; edits and cursors sync in real time.
• Use the toolbar to apply structure and style (headings, lists, bold, etc.). On mobile, the bar may sit at the bottom when the keyboard is open so you still reach the controls.
• Undo and redo apply to your edits like in a normal desktop editor.
• Import brings in a file from your device (you confirm before replacing content). Export (on desktop web) lets you download Markdown (the usual choice), plain text, or a backup-style file if you need it.

What you can add to your notes

Use the toolbar to shape your document—no need to learn special syntax first:

• Section titles (three levels) so the page has a clear outline
• Bold, italic, and strikethrough for emphasis
• Bullet lists, numbered lists, and checklists (great for tasks and shopping lists)
• Quotes for highlighting a decision or someone’s words
• A horizontal line when you want a visual break between parts
• Links, short code snippets, and code blocks when you need them

All of this stays organized when you export, especially as Markdown, which many apps and websites can open.

Save, share, and bring files in

• Export: Download your notes as Markdown (best for moving them to another app), plain text, or a backup-style JSON file.
• Import: Pick a file from your device to load into the editor (you’ll be asked to confirm before the current text is replaced).
• On phones and tablets, editing and import are the focus; downloading an export file works best from desktop web.

Everyone with the Notes app open sees one shared document. You can follow along as others type—handy for agendas, meeting notes, trip plans, or writing something together while you talk on voice or video.

• Use checklists for “who does what” after a call.
• Use quotes to mark a decision so it’s easy to spot later.
• Export to Markdown once in a while if you want a copy outside GroupTube — for example to keep in your files or paste into another tool.
